Life for the left after death of icons? Of course

Thanks for the interesting discussion on Friday – great to get so may of us there on the same night! For me, the key question is maybe how progressive political groups act in national/global solidarity when we foster diverse (if not disparate) and more locally autonomous visions of the future… Also how we organise more horizontally. I note that Russell Brand’s new book will be – in some shape or another – about how to organise (a revolution). I think he will do it suitably tongue in cheek but likely with some worthwhile insights… Meanwhile, Owen Jones has produced a useful little summary of the contemporary left in Britain for those of us who struggle to keep abreast of a fractured ‘movement’ (although he doesn’t mention Left Unity and Scotland and Wales are invisible to him, along with the socialist credentials of Plaid Cymru and the SNP…)
